![]() This is time reserved for Board input not for questions and answers. Comments should be directed to the Board President. If several people have indicated their desire to speak, the time limit may be reduced in order to allow more people the opportunity to speak. Each person’s statement should not exceed five (5) minutes. The order in which persons speak and the opportunity to speak are ultimately at the discretion of the Board President. The Board prefers that comments be offered during the public input portion of the agenda. Community members are encouraged to handle individual concerns by first dealing directly with the school person or division closest to the situation. ![]() School Board meetings are held in public but are not public meetings or public forums. ![]() Indiana Code 5-14-1.5-3 (Open Door Law) provides that all meetings of the governing bodies of public agencies must be open at all times for the purposes of permitting members of the public to observe and record them. The Board of Education recognizes and values public comments on educational issues and understands the importance of allowing members of the public to express themselves on school district matters.
